Leonard Ashton Harris was born 14 April 1910 in Bluff, San Juan, Utah to Lucy Rosalia Ashton and Joseph Bond Harris. He married Vernis Washburn 25 May 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah and a week later left for the Southern States LDS mission where he served for two years.
